They are free...and have been for awhile!

 On march 5th we let the butterflies that we had been growing go free.  Emily started with a little "freeing" ceremony that felt more like a funeral but. . .
She was the first to let one go.

Emily let her brother and sister each have a turn
(Makayla was at a "cowgirl" birthday party, hence the bandana)


It was pretty neat how they would sit on the kids hands for a few minutes before flying off.


 Emily let the last one go. . .
smiled and asked if we could grow some more sometime and then. . .
marched the cage to the garbage because it was "gross!"
(That's my girl)

We had a lot of fun watching the whole growing process and wouldn't mind doing it again, sometime. Those are my kind of pets. Own them for a month and then let them go.  :)
